It's Coming…

From the minds that brought you the definitive Serenity Blueprints, a project of such staggering scope it took the combined talents of over a dozen researchers, designers and artists, plus those scientifically-minded types who kept correctin’ our work, two years to create.

Get ready. This is big. Really big. And The Verse will never be the same.

That’s all I’m sayin’… for now.

*annoyed with Andy for withholding information*

  3. micjwelch says:

Oh, that’s not nice at all…

  4. admin says:

Oh, c’mon, you guys! Don’t you *like* surprises?

Plus, you’re not going to have to wait long for this one…

  6. Atom says:

Wow, what a tease. Could you at least give up a date?

  7. admin says:

    Atom – yes, yes I am ;-)

As for a date. Let’s just say it’s a matter of days; a week at the most. Meanwhile, I’ve got a couple other distractions I think you’ll like…

  8. darthviper107 says:

I bet it’s the full model all put together and ready to go to painting/electronics.

    I’m excited.

  9. Christim says:

Or it might be a story about The Verse…

That includes more info about Cerberus…

    That comes with a poster…

And is done in 3D sound (binaural recording), like this:

    headphones are a must:

    …well, Christmas is coming up!

  10. Akin says:

Fine, I’ll track you down at the Con and if you don’t reveal it there I’ll go all Niska on your ass…

  11. Steve Rees says:

Has someone been working on a fancy-pants map of the ‘Verse?
    No, that would be silly.

It’s gonna be a Mal maquette.

  12. Sean says:

    Oh, the Humanity!

  13. admin says:

Heya Steve, DV and Christim – (whistling, suddenly facinated with my shoelaces)

Akin – can’t we discuss options that *don’t* include violence, or is this the crowd?

  14. darthviper107 says:

Just curious, since you’re doing the Little Damn Heroes stuff, does your Serenity license include characters?

I’d love to see some well-done polystone figures of the crew, a lot of people have been trying to get Sideshow Collectibles to do it but they probably never will.

  15. admin says:

Hi DV – Our license is specially for animated maquettes, although I’m pretty sure if we had some compelling “life portrait” style statue designs, we could expand in that direction.

But that there’s the problem – getting a compelling design. I don’t have to tell you how hard it is to do life designs that actually look like the actor (or what fans think the actor looks like). Not that animation isn’t hard, too. It’s just a different kind of hard – and a different skill set.

One thing I can tell you. We won’t make something until we’re sure it’s something fans will love. It’s not enough for it to be Serenity, it’s got to stand on it’s own as a great design. We try to hold everything we do to that standard.

  16. Akin says:

    *cracks knuckles*

Ya know, you’ll basically be in my jurisdiction while you’re here… best watch your step…

  17. Steve Rees says:

By the way, Over on the Cortex Forums for Serenity there is a thread about music that “would” survive into the ‘Verse. Beatles’ “Cry Baby Cry” is obviously one good song that made it.
Now I’m thinking you are lobbying for another song from them… I mean really, “I got rivets on my fingers!” Hoot hoot.

That brought a smile to my face.

  18. admin says:

Heh, thanks, Steve. I thought of the headline after having talking to Wolvster about the enormous amount of work it was putting on all the rivets. Just couldn’t resist ;-)

  19. Sean Kennedy says:

oooooooooooooooooooooo! Andy told me about this one….I’m REALLY looking forward to this one. >;-)

  20. William Pace says:

I’ll tell everyone what they’re making, but only if you all chip in and promise to buy me three of everything QMx has made in the last two years.

  21. Jim in St. Louis says:

It has been six days and I check the site at least six times a day. The suspense is KILLING ME!

  22. john vaughan says:

you all haven’t disapointed me yet, so i can wait

  23. keelhauler says:

what Jim said: It has been six days and I check the site at least six times a day. The suspense is KILLING ME!
