Welcome to Stray Dogs

It’s been a long time coming. But after a year of writing, editing, rewriting, reediting, peer-reviewing, rerewriting – well, you get the idea – it’s finally done: The first chapter of the first book in the Unification War cycle (also known as the Cerberus Chronicles). Chapter One of “Stray Dogs” is in the post right below this one.

Many people helped on the long road to this first destination. First and foremost my undying respect to the people who created a little short-lived show called Firefly that inspired this story. Kudos to Ben Mund and Sean Kennedy who gave me input on the earliest drafts of this story. And to my peer reviewers – Tabitha Smith (Tabz), Chris Bridges, Beth Nelson, Mary McKay-Eaton (Maer), Jim Wampler – many thanks for your patient and detailed feedback through the intervening drafts. And finally, thanks to Christopher Gentleman STGC(SW) USN, this story’s technical advisor, for advising me that the military protocol and rank relationships made sense.

And thanks to the entire Browncoat community that has so enriched my life. Here’s my holiday gift to you. Whether it turns out to be the shiny you always hoped for or just another lump of coal, you’ll have to let me know. – AG

Nice Story. Can we get the christmas present now? :-)

  2. Ben Mund says:

Burned through this chapter – now waiting for the next. Especially curious about some character backgrounds – and I love the desert dig-in. Reminds me of Echo Base from “Empire”…
