What Serenity Means to You can be hard to put into words. But ever the creative force we know all Browncoats are, you find a way. With pictures, with music, with dance. Even in the way you teach our children.
As Cory described so eloquently in his first place essay last week, Serenity means family. But family is more than just the people who give us support and help us through the thick and the thin. Family can also be about what we do for those same people. Our second place winner – a video by Lindsay Coderre – explores that aspect of What Serenity Means:

Woo!! I love this video. So proud of my sister.
Jen D…You should be proud of her! She’s a Browncoat!
*GAH* That’s ME!!!! So embarrassing! But yay!!! I’m so incredibly excited to get my shuttle!!!! I cannot believe I came in second…I’m still in shock! Wish I’d come up with a better dance though…I was hard pressed for time.
what is the name of that song and who is it by? I love that! I really need it!!!!
Congrat Lindsay!!! You did good.
It’s called the Apprentice by Vixy and Tony (Michelle Dockrey). It was played in the first episode of season 5 of the Signal Podcast. Such a brilliant song!!
Lindsay, Your dance was beautiful, errr Shiny! Made me a little misty – all that talent and passion – and that was choppy, blurry internet video. With high quality video, Honestly, there could be tears.
I would love to see a higher bandwidth version of your dance and/or your “better dance”. Maybe you should try out for So You Think You Can Dance and share your gifts and the ‘Verse with millions.
Vexem: Thank you so much! I’m sad to say that the video had to be filmed using my web cam because I cannot afford to purchase a digital video cam…instead, I got a whole wack load of software. I’ve considered trying out for SYTYCD but their schedules nowadays conflicts with schooling and I must focus on my career if I want to become a computer animator! Your comment made me immensely happy and I appreciate your support.
Everyone: Thank you so much for all your wonderful feedback!!
Anyone who loves the show that much deserves a shuttle! Good job!
