> At Last – The Final Reveal [Data Source: admin]
Some stories require few words. And in the case the final reveal, I think we’ll let the pictures (and product description) tell all: http://www.qmxonline.com/serenity.
Pricing is still pending, but we should have prices soon. So all’s that’s left is for you to tell us what you think. How’d we do?

Wow.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Hey, do I see a miniature Mal and Wash on the bridge?
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
You do indeed. In fact, there are eight BDHs on the bridge!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I cannot believe it will be ready soon. I need a price. Is there an installment plan . Needs are needs.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
That is a thing of beauty.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Wow, very awesome. Great lights–really good solution for the gravity ring. Are you still planning a signature edition?
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
It’s so beautiful, I almost cried looking at the photos. And I didn’t cry watching “Up” so that says something! There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how incredible she is. You guys did a fantastic job!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I feel sick, I’ve been waiting and watching so long now. I use to believe that there isn’t a way I wouldn’t be first in line, but that was two years ago when I still had a job. Man, congrats to anyone who can pick this up, you are indeed envied!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Awesome,,,,,, Just Awesome! The paint and lighting effects are perfet.
I signed up to be on the wait list.
THANKS ANDY!

Wow! Prettiest thing ever!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Is it Christmas yet? Daddy, I know what I want!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I have a feeling this will be out of my price range. But if QMx has a $30/month payment plan, I’m in!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Stunning. I’m at a loss for words to describe how this beauty makes me feel. Crafted with love – your intentions shine through.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
i love you guys. seriously.
now, when will it be available? nudge, nudge…
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Seriously, I love you guys. This really is amazing, no, it’s shiny!
We really need pricing, I mean, I’m going to go hungry for a few months and definitely buying, but some pre-budgeting would be good.
Again, thank you, I could cry.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
You did good.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
How does one download the wallpaper pic. I’m having trouble getting it.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Hi Craig – just click on the image at the top of this story and then right-click and save to your hard drive. That should do it!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I’m in heaven. Geek-freakin’-heaven. Absolutely stunning.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Dear Buddha…
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I agree 150% with the comments and praise above (including being afraid that I might not be able to afford this beauty).
I hate to point out, however, that Inara’s shuttle (shuttle #1) is supposed to be on the starboard side.
If you wish to thank me for pointing this out and helping you avoid a potential fan backlash, I would greatly appreciate a discount on the purchase.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Would it be possible to get a confirmation email so we know our Wait List request was received?

Has somebody seen my jaw anywhere???
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Very very well done. I wish they did those comic cons in NY or Boston.I’m guessing not spending money on the airfare to get across the country to it means I’m in better shape when the price for this becomes known.
I’ll add that the hype and site put together was worth it. Seeing the details of the individual parts was a nice touch!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Anyone know the best way to dry out a drooled-on keyboard? Had to switch to my deaktop until the laptop stops smokin’
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
No power in the ‘Verse can stop me from getting the Shiniest Firefly on the planet
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
To quote a certain salesman
“Tell you what. You buy this ship – treat her proper – she’ll be with you for the rest of your life.”
I can’t imagine any possible way you could have done a better job, not if you spent a whole decade trying! She’s simply breathtaking.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
This is actually the first chance I’ve had to look at this on a computer (as opposed to my iphone). Holy crap. I’ve been close enough to touch it before, but it was unpainted and with no lights… wow.
Can’t wait to steal it errr I mean see it come Friday…
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Will you still be providing contact info to get that Plexiglas case that you had at Creation? I think having this hermetically sealed so no dust gets on her, ever, would not be unreasonable…
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Congratulations to the QMX and FX Company teams. You have created a masterpiece. Bravo.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
This is absolutely amazing! Please, please have some kind of payment plan!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
That looks so amazing, I want one. So we all know that orders go up on 30th Sept, but any idea when pricing, etc will be announced, so that I have some idea as to if I can afford it.
On a side issue, I’ve been looking at the eps and the movie, and the colour scheme seems somewhat different, especially the back half and engine pods. Or are these photo’s not of a fully final painted prototype.

I’ve carefully examined every shot of Serenity on Blu-ray for this very issue. It is apparent that the appearance of the ship changes in almost every scene of the film depending on the lighting, angle, situation the ship is in (landing vs. dog fighting vs. cruising). There are times that the engine section looks metal, and other times when it appears to be ceramic. Based on the Blue Prints and solids I have seen, I believe QMx has the color and appearance spot on. I’m sure they had the most accurate of source materials and their representation is accurate.

I have a small request. As a number of us will likely never be able to even see one of these in person, could we get a photo of the crew on the bridge with it partially disassembled? Having the crew on board is way beyond what I expected for this.

One problem with creating a real-life plastic version of a CGI model is that it’s never going to look like the digital version. Even if you copy the paint colors exactly from the RGB values used in the CGI version, real-world (not-in-space) lighting is going to make it look different.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I don’t give a good gorham what… I have GOT to have one of these!
This thing is unbelievably sweet!
Hurry.. Hurry.. Hurry..
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
This is fantastic, I am working extra hard to get enough cashy money for this sweet ship. Payment plan please?!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Jim and Sam, thanks for that. I’ve had a bit more of a look myself and yeah, colours seem to be all over the place along with some actual differences in the model itself, between series and film.
So, in this case, in QMx we trust.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I know you can’t say anything about price yet & I totally accept that. I would like to ask, if I may, about the payment plan? Can you tell us what the maximum period of time you can give us to complete the payments is likely to be or can’t you say anything about that until the price is announced? Lastly I just want to say you people put the art into artisan, this version of Serenity screams quality, painstaking accuracy & the kind of attention to detail that leaves sculptors permanantly cross-eyed! Thank you for putting so much work into this project & giving us Browncoats the chance to own the ultimate collectable.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
It is wonderful when the promise of such a beloved ship is fully realized in such a breath-taking model. Very nice work. Any chance of the landing gear configuration mentioned before? The paint job is amazing, and will make the price easier to bear. I’ll be first in line to pay, but I would think the more flexible you are with payment plans the more you will sell — at least more than a sideshow flex-pay version. Thanks for bringing serenity to life!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I hope contacting the provided email to get on the wait list worked, there was no response (kind scary). I guess that says enough about what I think of your BDM. She’s awesome! Pretty sure the price is going to be scary but she’s a must have, so we’ll just deal with it!
Way to go you guys!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I too would like one, if I can get one I hope they offer a acrylic cover as well so keep dust (and hands) off. I’d be too tempted to play with it!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Has it been stated roughly when the price or payment plan will be announced at all? Love the ship cant wait to get one….(i hope)
Dan
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I’ve heard there are only eight of the BDH’s on the bridge. Is this accurate? If so, who’s missing, and why? Please don’t say Inara because her shuttle (which was correctly pointed out above is on the Starboard side, not Port) can be shown departing…
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Okay… Does it come as pictured? Meaning lights, BDH figures, etc, etc… And, can I just trade you guys one of my kids, my car, or a kidney?
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Hi Brain – what you see is what you get – lights, mini-BDHs, the whole shebang. Don’t need anymore kids (in fact, might be willing to throw one of mine in with a Serenity, if you like). But happy to put a lien on your kidney. Never know when having a fresh kidney might prove handy.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
In the Photo Gallery, the model your showing has the shuttle taking off on the Port (left) side of the ship. Is That still supposed to be Anara’s shuttle? Because her shuttle is on the Starboard (right) side! What happened?
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Great Replica. The lighting effects are stunning. I WANT THIS.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I’ve been waiting for a replica of the Serenity other than that Xmas Ornament that came out a few years ago. This thing looks awesome — I hope you got my email about adding me to the order list!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I just won the lottery and I’m thinking of building a BDR of my own to live in! The best house ever!
Now if the zoning commission would allow it. I don’t want to move to the middle of nowhere. What’s the point if you can’t entertain your friends in it?
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I’ve been looking into the ‘Shuttle discrepancy’, pouring over Firefly episodes and our BDM (such hardship, I know!) and this is what I found:
In the series, Inara’s shuttle was Shuttle 1, and docked on the port side.
In the movie, Inara’s shuttle was Shuttle *2*, but was also docked on the port side.
The model appears to be Shuttle 2, as it was in the movie (being as how Universal grants the license to produce the shinies, that makes sense) but is shown launching from the Port side… which I haven’t yet found any evidence for in the movie, so I’m not sure yet why that choice was made…
That being said, the shuttles appear to have hatches on both port and starboard sides, so presumably they could dock on either side.
What I’d like to know is, would we have a choice as to *which* shuttle we wanted launching from Serenity??? I’d still want it to be Shuttle 1, personally
)
Regardless, I’m drooling over her, and mention of a possible payment plan has me crossing my fingers that I might be able to swing the monthly payments *WANTS* It’s a beautiful piece of work!
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Ack! I meant STARBOARD side above – Inara’s shuttle in both the series and the movie was docked on the STARBOARD side! Had port on the brain
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
I’m a Star Trek fan, but Serenity blows it away!!!!
Please let us know how much. I would live to ownone.
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Man I’m soo excieted I can’t spell..
I meant to say I would love to have one.
Sorry…
21.07.2009 at 7:46 pm
Perfect! Whatever the price, I want one! Please keep me (and the rest of us salivating Browncoats) informed of when, how much, and how!
