I had to jump on this one quick, half sold out in the first day! Only 8 more characters to go!
8 characters? Kaylee is already a maquette, right? So who’s the other character? Oooh, here’s an idea- how about Saffron as a maquette?

10 total? is so there are 8 characters left, 2 obtained already. Kaylee is number 270 of 1500 and Mal is number 57 of a 1000. 9 would be the crew. The ship itself is often referred to as the 10th character but the proportion would be skewed…or it wouldn’t fit on my shelf:)
Questions:
Is the order and dates they will be released known?
There were less made of Mal than of Kaylee. Was this a play it by ear decision, see how it goes based on Kaylee sales or was this determined from the outset?
Who is next, and when?

Hi Christim – so, I gather you got your Mal? What do you think?
We plan to do the whole crew, plus a few variants (nekkid Mal, anyone?) and a few surprises. The show/movie just has such great characters we could keep going and going!
As for the size of the editions – many factors go into deciding the edition size – customer demand, appeal of design, if a charity is involved (as they are with Mal). We want to strike a balance between making sure most folks who want one can get one and keeping the edition small so these will be true collectibles for the folks who buy them. Somehow, having 5,000 of something in an edition doesn’t strike me as particularly collectible.
But maybe that’s just me
Mal is great. Especially standing next to Kaylee. It will be especially more so standing next to whoever comes next!

It will be interesting to see how River comes out. I picture the look on her when she picks out the guy on the floor and makes the face towards Zoe that says “doh..yes him”.
