Building a Firefly – Part One

We never thought we’d see this day come, but here it is at last: The Serenity sculpt is (mostly) finished. I say mostly, because there are always additional details that need to be added during build development (such as the reactor pipes that will likely be made out of brass); and there is still the bridge to be sculpted. But by and large, she’s done.

Those of you who made it to the Creation con got an eyeful of the very first, fully-assembled casting of the ship. Wolvster is hard at work casting several more prototype kits for The FX Company to begin the logistics and design work – paint, electronics, staging and the like. But while that work is gets rolling, I wanted to give the rest of you a chance to see what those lucky few who made it to Burbank have already seen – Serenity Complete.

Because there’s so much to cover, I’m going to divide the build gallery up into the Four Parts. For Part One, we start at the back fo the ship:

    Have I ever mentioned how awesome the model is? I still need to get my pictures and stuff up, but… wow… this is gonna be so cool…

    do we know a release date and a guestimate on how many banks we need to rob to afford this brilliant peice of art ?
