More Rivets

Wow, with all the buzz and great feedback we’re getting on the Map of the Verse (which is now on the QMx site and will be available for purchase this weekend – pass it on), I almost forgot we’ve got another cool product we should talking about – Seren-something. No, give me a minute. It’ll come back to me…

Okay, all kidding aside, we have mucho updates coming on the Serenity replica. With pre-show prep in full swing, I don’t have time to post a lot right now. But couldn’t help but want to slip this one in: Rivets. Lots of Rivets. Lots and lots of Rivets. Oh, and look at all those hand-carved armor plates – shiny!

By the way, this is a casting, not a master. Pretty sweet, eh?

Before I forget, just curious how many of you Core-Techs are going to make it to the Creation show in Burbank? If you can possibly be there, be there. Not sayin’ anything else. Just – be there.

Give us a full update about the Creation show. I live in Illinois and have 3 kids so I can’t make it. Now if you put a show on in Indianapolis or Chicago then maybe. Keep up the great work!!

    Serenity Update,,,,,, Woo Hoo!

    Creation,,,,,, D’oh!!!! :(

wish i could get there, but between work and the fact i live in kansas, i just can’t make it. keep flyin anyway. oh, love the rivets, you guys rock.

You don’t know how much I wish I could go! I have a set of Jason Palmer prints I need signed, and I would DIE to meet Jewel… But I can’t :_(

I would love to see pictures and info (and VIDEO) of everything at the show that you guys reveal (or even of the panels). I’m in Wisconsin, so next time, move it out of Burbank, and into Chicago! (or Milwaukee).

Also, AMAZING job on the replica, it’s coming along great!

I’ve done some computer modeling as well as tinkered with some of the plastic model kits, and I have to say that both models of the ship continually amaze me. That original 3D computer model is freakin’ awesome, and you guys are doing a great job of bringing her to life.

    How…? But…the rivets…they’re…

It has to be some kind of huge, novelty ruler underneath.

  7. Akin says:

Say, Andy, just for the sake of discussion… if there were something that could be carried off from the QMX booth, how large would it be? Something that’s not currently for sale or anything… mayhap a pre-production sample, or something… just kinda curious about the size of the foam-lined container that would be needed to cart off such an item.

Also, what’s your pain threshold like? Would a regular taser incapacitate you long enough for someone to commit such a theoretical heist, or would more serious measures be needed?

Can’t wait to see you again this weekend!

    *evil grin*

  8. Atom says:

I agree with jonesy, update us poor geeps who cannot attend the event!

  9. Wolvster says:

Nope, no novelty ruler there.. ;)
TRUST me, they are ALL raised rivets as I have
a CONSTANT headache to prove it!

    {BTW, I stopped counting at 300 }

I am hopeful Andy will take lot’s of pictures
at Creation to show this off. I tried my best to match the
CGI model in “almost” every aspect. ;)

Oh, and just so folks here know, while I assembled this
for it’s trip out West I took over 100 pictures to make
a build diary. I will let Andy decide what he wants to post
here once hte show is over next week sometime..

Akin (Scott) – well, my threshold of pain is not as good as some, better than others. But I’m not the one you gotta worry about. Beth Nelson is our showrunner and I’m pretty sure she’s a Cameron-model Terminator.

Atom – Mucho pictures will ensue!

  11. Sue says:

I’ll be there. Already making a list and checking it twice – so to speak. I am so excited….

  12. Sean Kennedy says:

I will be there….not with bells on… per se…Bellflower maybe.

  13. oldduffer says:

Ooh, sounds like a tasty morsel offered for attendee’s! Serenity’s looking grreat too. :)

  14. Christim says:

hmm, Bellflower. Trailer maybe? Big Shiny Trailer.
