Hi Darth – that’s interesting. The production company only told us about two versions, so we’ll have to check in with Zoic and see about that. It might be that an earlier rendition of the TV model was used in the very first episodes; we were told they were adding detail to model as they went along.

As for pricing – we haven’t announced any pricing for this replica yet.

Hi Doug – yeah, sad to say, but shipping, resin materials, everything has gone up a lot in cost over the last year. It’s made it difficult for us to hold the line on shipping charges and product costs, but we’ll continue to try and keep things as affordable as possible.

I’d really love to buy this when it’s finished, but I seriously doubt I could afford it… The shipping to the UK will be astronomical on it’s own!

Very detailed. By the way, there was actually 3 versions of the ship, during the TV show they had another version in the first two episodes that was a much more simple version of the ship, probably half the complexity of the final show model. It’s the version on the season DVD artwork.

I was just wondering, are you still shooting for a $500-$550 pricetag or are you going to expect it to be more expensive than that now?

I think the work and the attention to detail are fantastic, I’m really looking forward to getting my own Firefly. I would appreciate a rendering like the final frame of your animation, for painting purposes, for each part, probably on the website if you guys could manage that. Thanks for doing this. I’ve got all 4 of the ornaments, but really wanted a larger size model.

I have seen Firefly and Serenity countless times. Some mods are obvious like the landing gear, cargo ramp, bridge layout. I really didn’t realize the fine details though until seeing the side-by-side animation of the engine. Really amazing. If your planning on having that kind of detail on the replica,,,,,, WOW!

OK, leaving work early now to go home and watch Serenity!
